Shops and Services in Balsicas, Murcia
- Travel tip: The emergency number in Spain is three digit code: 112
- Fact: The E111 is now being phased out, so plan ahead and replace yours with the new European Health Insurance Card
Tired of Superstores? Rather be on a first name basis with small shop owners? Say hola to Balsicas.
Balsicas has a supermarket and numerous other small shops, so your day-to-day needs will be easily catered for within the village itself. If you can't find that particular item you're looking for (we all have our odd cravings), San Javier and its wide range of shops is but a 12km drive away.
And let's not forget the large shopping complexes and boutiques in Murcia and Cartagena, which are only 34km and 40km away respectively.
Staying healthy
Spain's healthcare system is one of Europe's best. Most Spaniards can expect to see their GP within one day of booking.
Like the NHS, healthcare is free to all citizens. So visitors that bring their European Health Insurance Card or E111 can be assured of fast, free attention whenever it’s needed.
For minor complaints, Spanish pharmacies (Farmacias) are excellent and many medicines that require a prescription at home can be bought over the counter here. Look out for the flashing green cross outside the store.
For emergencies, the nearest hospital is only 12km away in San Javier.
For a healthier lifestyle, consider making Balsicas your home. You can view excellent Sucina property on this site or request a brochure.
